The Bling Ring
Until its theatrical release (and even after then, letsbehonest), I will be obsessed with this movie. I mean... Sofia Coppola. Emma Watson. Sleigh Bells (which speaks to the larger subject of how crazy awesome the soundtrack will be.) And of course the wicked style.

Carried Away
Nothing much to say in this post, other than that I absolutely fell in love with this video. Great song, great album, great artist. I feel compelled to include it in my blog for completion's sake, if that makes any sense.
It does to me.
It does to me.

Oscars 2013: Animated Short Film
Academy Awards are a week away. After many hours spent in the theater, I think I'm ready (barring a few of the technical films, and pretty much all of the documentaries.)
I also spent some time fiddling around the internet trying to find clips of this year's contenders for Best Animated Short Film. I think they're all superbly crafted, but these three especially tugged at some heart strings:
Head Over Heels PES
Adam and Dog Minkyu Lee
If I were an AMPAS voter, I would probably put in my vote for Adam and Dog. Such a sweet story, and quite an ambitious endeavor. Especially when you hear it directly from Minkyu Lee.
P.S. Watch Amour. It almost entirely validates your fears of old age, but the film itself is too beautiful and impactful to ignore.
Oh, and here's my source: FirstShowing.net (for the other two shorts.)

One Long Almodóvar Movie
Yes, pretty much sums up my fantastic holiday in Spain (and Portugal): that I pretty much was sitting through one long, fabulously entertaining, and beautifully set Pedro Almodóvar movie. Granted, from the plethora of movies he's made, I've seen only 2. But I'd say they're a good sampling of his brilliant career.
La Piel que Habito (The Skin I Live In)
By the way, I've decided to pick up my life and move to Barcelona. It has got to be the most exciting metropolitan city in Western Europe! (Obviously, outside of Paris.) I envision a glamorous city life for myself while there, where I explore my more creative, artistic side, and get completely loaded on wine every night. Yes.

Why are the Spanish so sexy.

Truly Dismal News
It's been a joyous fashion season for me thus far, especially considering that my schedule actually permits me free time to follow the Fall ready-to-wear collections. I had such a horribly busy Fall last year, I was so out of the loop for Spring trends from all the major Italian and French houses. Quelle horreur.
Indeed, New York and London Fashion Weeks have been particularly enchanting and wholly satisfying. I'm sure you caught the fabulously floppy pimp hats at Marc Jacobs, as well as the stellar military-themed jackets (and the surely padded hair halos) at the first ever McQ show.
But my joy has been briefly interrupted by news that Raf Simons is leaving his post as creative director of Jil Sander, one of my favorite European design houses. (Jil Sander is returning to to head up her eponymous label, if you were curious.) It will be sad to see his bold, innovative silhouettes and deceptively simplistic designs leave. There is hopeful chatter, though, that he'll be moving on to Christian Dior. I'll believe it when it excitingly happens.
Anyways, here are my favorite looks from my favorite collection:

His last collection, Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear, will show tomorrow, in case you're dying to see it.

Dear Jessica Chastain: Please Wear Couture
...to the Academy Awards this year!
She is just so absolutely beautiful, I am truly having a hard time imagining any couture she couldn't pull off. But of all couture, she must obviously wear Armani Privé. I'm sure E! would be salivating at the opportunity to photograph the combination of these reptilian textures and deep, rich shades of green with her light skin and red hair on the red carpet.
Also beautiful on her would be these Giambattista Valli couture gowns.

Milan Fall 2012: Burberry Prorsum Menswear
I cannot get over how delightful newsboy caps are! Fortunate, then, for me that Burberry's Fall 2012 menswear collection is fraught with them.
Yes, truly the sexiest men's collection of the season. Just imagine fabulously strolling around London's West End in a fitted, brown velvet suit and a cropped and quilted, fur-collared jacket.

In other Burberry news, I've decided to somehow obtain this watch as a graduation gift to myself:
